A friend called me recently asking if I could take some photos to help build her portfolio.  I, being the gentleman that I am, was happy to lend a hand.  Here’s just a few shots I pulled from the sets I shot with the Canon 50D on Monday.  I used a couple studio lights indoors and didn’t do much in post except a few tone changes with Adobe Lightroom 2 (no airbrushing or anything).  She asked that I try to keep the exposure of her tattoos to a minimum, which was a bit of a challenge since she had quite a few.  But I was able to get a lot of great poses and we were both really happy with the outcome of the days work.  Tough job, I know :)

D’s sister Aleczandra is an extremely talented singer/songwriter/musician. She came by for a quick shoot at the studio on sunday and photographed really well. thebadcharacter will be working with Aleczandra to brand herself by designing her blog, CD cover and booklet. It was a pleasure to work with her and we will continue to post updates on this project as it moves forward.

One was an action shot at night in extreme darkness. It was the first time I pushed my ISO settings really high on my camera. Thomas runs the XDL stunt bike league that J-Beats and Warren Jamez compete in. I was happy with the lighting but I think the background is a little too busy. I am grateful for the experience either way.
