I took this photo back in the good old days. My friend Domes had just picked up some new kicks and as usual we were bored at work. I always liked the colors of his shoes and we used to flip colorways for garments based on his new kicks.
thx Domes

We recently wrapped up a new site for Pulse Recording and Check Your Pulse Publishing. They manage some very successful writers and music producers around today. Bonnie McKee, for example, wrote Katy Perry’s ‘California Gurls’, which was number 1 for six weeks straight.
For the site, they required a custom mp3 player, blog and twitter feed, social networking plugins and newsletter. The MP3 player was, in my opinion, the most challenging aspect of the site. It required that a separate playlists loaded based on the page you were viewing. This challenge was overcome by using conditional php tags. We are very satisfied with the overall look and functionality of these sites. Check them out.

I was up on a friends roof the other day and took this photo of the Rosslyn Hotel sign. Aside from the obvious interest in typography I have always found these signs to be much more romantic than the gaudy vinyl monstrosities you see on the sides of buildings now-a-days. There are quite a few down Wilshire and a handful in the downtown area. If you want to see more check out toomuchfire on Flickr.

G is for Gmoney.

My latest submission to lettercult.com for the alphabattle they have going on. I know, I know, I’m trying to catch up.
Just got our 1st set of business cards back from our friends over at sideshow press. The cards are 1 color print on the black side with our logo letter pressed on the reverse side. We are all really happy with the outcome and cant wait to get these in circulation. Thanks again to Virginia over at sideshow press, she really took care of us every step of the way. Here are some photos from the sideshow press blog:

My latest submission to lettercult.com for the alphabattle they have going on. I decided to work some of my photography into this one. You can see more photos on our flickr. Also check out the previous submissions: A, B

I got a chance to check out the House Industries gallery exhibition at Eames office in Santa Monica. They were debuting the Eames typeface and had some three dimensional examples cut from Eames signature molded plywood. If you dont know about Eames you can check out their site. I was given the full history by a nice woman named Roz at Eames office.

Also on hand was Fresh Pressed doing live screen printing of the new typeface while The Mattson 2 kept things jazzy.

My friend BertolegendaryH was was telling me about the alphabattle going on over at lettercult.com. So I whipped up an “A” (though they are already working on “C”). I’ll try to get on deadline after the next few. Here is my submission so far:

Here is a peek at a logo redesign I’m working on for my father. He runs a 2 way communications business. I tried to “update” his current logo to something more tech related. It still needs some work but i think it is a drastic improvement from the previous logo (which I’m not going to post).
