Greg and I spent most of our free time last week downtown at Andy’s studio, watching the progression of a piece that both Andy and James were collaborating on. The piece was for a show titled “State of the Art” which opened and held at Ek5obition Gallery last weekend at Pomona’s Artwalk. It’s a one of kind experience watching these two ‘work’; Mini electric dirt bikes, night-time LED laden photo shoots, random visits from friends and even a lucha libre show next door all came together to make quite the creative environment. The piece itself is actually 15 different canvas’ that were placed together to create on large canvas.
Be sure to check out the Flickr to see more behind the scene photos and if you were not able to make it out to the show last Saturday, here is a link to Ek5obition’s Flickr that shows the finished product.
If you frequent the blog then you know weget down with Ninjasonik whenever they’re on the westcoast. This time around they headlined the free/all ages Mad Decent Block party.
We have been spending a lot of time at the print house lately. Working, drinking, skating, playing basketball…etc. I uploaded a few photos of our activities to our Flickr. Big thanks to Rudy, Andy Rios, and all the homies at the shop that are making sure our tees are coming out proper.
Better late than never I always say, so here’s a video from AGENDA that was held at the Huntington Beach Hyatt Resort in July 2009. This was my first time attending AGENDA and, from what I was told, this was one of the best due to the location and over all logistics of the trade show. AGENDA provided standard sized booths, which provided easy setup and a more unified look. Thanks to Jonathan at New Era, we were provided with VIP wristbands to an open bar sponsored by New Era. And of course, seeing all the usual suspects provided good times. Shouts to Dethkills, The Haunted Pangaean and LTd Productions.
Got a chance to check out the “Balls To The Wall” show in DTLA last night and was not disappointed. The show features new paintings by my good friend MIDZT, as well as a number of black and white polaroids by KalfLife. Equally impressive was the crowd that turned out for the party/opening. It was good to see so many friends in one spot. For those of you who couldn’t make it out I have posted photos from the night on the TBC flickr.
