On 11/11, our good friend James Gillette had a solo show “Feel Me Don’t Kill Me” at the Archrival clothing store, located in downtown LA. Greg and I spent most of our free time last week downtown at Andy’s studio, watching the progression of a piece that both Andy and James were collaborating on. The piece was for a show titled “State of the Art” which opened and held at Ek5obition Gallery last weekend at Pomona’s Artwalk. It’s a one of kind experience watching these two ‘work’; Mini electric dirt bikes, night-time LED laden photo shoots, random visits from friends and even a lucha libre show next door all came together to make quite the creative environment. The piece itself is actually 15 different canvas’ that were placed together to create on large canvas.

We rolled out to Venice on Saturday night for the Rogue Status x SYRV benefit art show. Saw some nice stuff inside and outside of the store. Check out the photos on thebadcharacter flickr.

The show features new paintings by my good friend MIDZT, as well as a number of black and white polaroids by KalfLife. Equally impressive was the crowd that turned out for the party/opening. It was good to see so many friends in one spot. For those of you who couldn’t make it out I have posted photos from the night on the TBC flickr.
